Mosquito HJ767 from 60 OTU crashed 17th June 1944. The aircraft was engaged on a night cross-country navigation exercise from High Ercall when it developed engine trouble. While attempting a forced landing the pilot lost control of the Mosquito, which spun and crashed in fields to the west of Bunny, Nottinghamshire. Both crew members were killed.
Flight Lieutenant Joseph Kevin De Roeck 126151 RAFVR (Pilot) aged 24 is buried at Nottingham Southern Cemetery, while his navigator Sergeant Finlay William David Hearn is buried at Botley Cemetery.

Finlay Hearn was the son of a Canadian journalist and an English mother. Born in Canada, he moved with siblings Barbara and Donald to England in 1921 and, at the time of his death, his parents were living in Banbury.
