    A I Prescott was killed when his Lancaster LM684 JI-C crashed during the Homberg Raid on 21st November 1944.
    LM684 was one of three 514 Sqdn Lancasters lost on this operation. See: NG121; PD265. Airborne 1245 from Waterbeach. Crashed 1 km NW of Moers. All were buried locally. They have been subsequently re-interred in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery.

    Mr Simon Hepworth, whilst researching the death of his great-Uncle, F/S Gosnold, F/E of PD265 who was KIA on this operation, discovered an eye-witness from an adjacent aircraft who states that this aircraft was destroyed by its newly dropped 'cookie' being struck by another bomb and exploding underneath the aircraft.
